On 4th October 2017 HeidelbergCement launched the Sustainability Commitments 2030 that define the key topics and core principles of the corporate sustainability strategy. The Sustainability Commitments 2030, in line with the international standards, declare the Goals for the Sustainable Development, which are included in the “Agenda 2030”, an action plan approved by the governments of the 193 UN member countries. The areas of priority for the Group are six: promoting economic strength and innovation, reaching excellence in occupational health and safety, reducing our environmental impacts, establishing the circular economy, being good neighbours and ensuring legal compliance and transparency.

The new environmental and energy policy of Italcementi
In line with these commitments and in compliance with the international regulations ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 on the management systems for environment and energy, Italcementi has launched the new Environmental and Energy Policy. The new policy includes several commitments and actions which are integral parts of the business strategy of the company and is also meant as a clear message of Italcementi’s will to act responsibly and carefully towards the environment.

The Environmental and Energy Policy is the essential document of any environment management system and acts as a framework for determining the environmental and energy goals of Italcementi. It represents a continuum in the commitment for Sustainable Development that has always characterized the Company, but – at the same time – is also an element of innovation, since it broadens its vision to very topical topics, such as the circular economy and the study of product lifecycles.
