The end of the participation in the UN Global Compact may occur under the following circumstances:

  1. As a voluntary initiative, each Participant may freely withdraw its participation at any time. Notice of termination of participation must be given by a letter signed by the top management of the organization.
  2. Business and non-business participants who fail to submit their reports by the deadlines first acquire the status of “non-communicating” and subsequently are delisted from the initiative.
  3. The participation also lapses in the absence of payment of the annual fee, where it is mandatory.
  4. The participation may be questioned if serious integrity issues arise. In this case, expulsion is preceded by a discussion between the company, the Local Network and the Global Compact Offices in New York to clarify the issue and possibly remedy it.
