Developed by the UN Global Compact together with B Lab, the SDG Action Manager is the new web-based solution for companies committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, whatever the location, size and production sector. A new internal assessment tool on corporate performance related to sustainability, which allows to set growth targets in the most strategic areas where the development potential remains high. Internal assessment, such as dynamic self-assessment, benchmarking, and improvement.

More specifically, according to a logic “learn at every step”, the platform makes it easier for the company to: - select SDGs relevant to its business; - assess the impact of the business model and supply chain in terms of progress in Agenda 2030; - identify areas of risk/improvement; - plangrowth objectives and monitor them.

"Despite real progress being made by the business community, there is clear recognition that action is still not measuring up to the size of the challenge. The business community has an important role to play delivering on the promise of a shared, durable prosperity for all. Grounded in our principles-based approach, the SDG Action Manager was developed to mobilize the private sector to take meaningful action and get us back on track to achieve the Agenda 2030," said Lise Kingo, CEO and Executive Director of the UN Global Compact.

"The Global Compact Network Italia will promote the platform to companies with more or less structured sustainability profiles. In particular, we think that a tool like Action Manager can be of great interest, not only for large companies, but also for small and medium sized companies that need support tools in their path towards sustainability. 80% of the Italian productive fabric is covered by small and medium enterprises. Action Manager is for them an indisputable tool of great interest and open source, free for anyone who wants to know it". (Daniela Bernacchi, Secretary General of the Global Compact Network Italy)

The SDG Action Manager brings together B Lab's expertise in the field of impact assessment, the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (related to the 4 areas: human rights, labour, environment, anti-corruption) and the Sustainable Development Goals; the project has also been developed with the involvement of a number of stakeholders, including corporate sustainability experts, civil society, UN agencies and academia, and draws continuous inspiration from the business sector that adheres to the UNGC and the B Lab community.

The platform is available in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

The tool is accessible and free for all business players.
