Applications in Italy

In Italy 192 organizations adhere to the Global Compact: 63% of them are business participants and 37% are other organizations.

The business participants can be divided into: 43% large companies (more than 250 employees), 57% are small and medium enterprises (from 11 to 250 employees).

The business participants work in a variety of different sectors

The most representative sectors are: the banking and financial sector (10 companies), the building materials and construction sector (10 companies) and the multiutility sector (8 companies). The value of manufacturing companies is misleading. Very different sub-sectors are considered under this definition which does not allow for a precise analysis that considers the whole sector.

37% of all participants are other organizations. They could be divided into: 33% Local NGOs, 13% Academics, 33% Business Organizations, 2% Trade Unions, 3% Foundations, 11% Public Institutions, 5% CSR organizations.
