The Italian Network

In line with the Global Compact Office directives, the Global Compact Network Italy (GCNI) acts as a national platform to carry out activities to promote and spread the Pact in the Italian context. Its mission is to make sure that the Global Compact will not only become better known and receive more adhesions, but that it will be taken more seriously, by the adherent enterprises and their partners, as a tool in undertaking social responsibility.

According to that, the Network is committed to:

• operating as the United Nations Global Compact national platform, to spread the initiative and its Ten Principles both at the regional and national level;
• stimulating the Italian companies to organize events and initiatives in support of the Global Compact;
• involving more companies and organizations in the initiative;
• promoting partnership projects among the companies and with the GCNI;
• supporting the companies in the Global Compact Principles implementation, in the production of the Communications on Progress and in the learning events;
• organizing meetings in cooperation with the supporter companies both at regional and national levels;
• being in contact with the Global Compact Office in New York and the other European Networks.
