tempioIn the final months of 2016, the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation (GCNI Foundation) will be engaged in an intense promotion of the United Nations Global Compact or, more generally, to make its own contribution in the context of national and international initiatives organized by partner agencies and aimed at a deepening study of sustainability issues, to the production of new knowledge or the sharing of good practices.

Here follows a description of the events where the Foundation will be actively involved:

"Investors for children - the results of the engagement initiative promoted in Italy": the event will be held on 21st November in Rome and the results of the engagement initiative on the issue of child labor launched by a consortium of 32 Italian investors (pension funds, managers, social security institutions and bank foundations) will be presented. The meeting is promoted by the Cometa pension fund and the Vigeo Eiris rating agency in collaboration with the Sustainable Finance Forum in the fifth edition of the week dedicated to socially responsible investment.

"Sofidel Suppliers Sustainability Award": On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Sofidel launched the Suppliers Sustainability Award. In order to promote and enhance the ethical and responsible management of the supply chain, the prize will be awarded by the company to the most sustainable business suppliers considered to be key partners in the achievement of Sofidel’s strategy. The awards ceremony will be held on 24th November, in Lucca.

At the event, Margherita Macellari - Program Manager & Analyst of GCNI Foundation, will be among the members that will make up the jury called upon to decide on the allocation of the prize.

"CSR Forum 2016": The eleventh edition of the Forum, promoted by ABI - Italian Banking Association along with ABIEventi, will be held on 1st and 2nd December at the Palazzo Altieri in Rome and will be aimed at giving a snapshot of the state of CSR at national and international level and to explore possible future developments. With its parterre of speakers, made up, as ever, of representatives from government and institutions, presidents and CEOs of banks and companies, national secretaries of trade unions and consumer associations, representatives of organizations and associations, the Forum will be characterized again this year as an opportunity to update, and partake in high-level discussion and networking for anyone in banks, businesses and organizations dealing with CSR.

Marco Frey, President of GCNI Foundation, will coordinate the opening plenary session ("Sharing Corporate Social Responsibility") on the morning of 1st December, while Alessia Sabbatino, as General Secretary of GCNI Foundation and “Reporting” Working Group coordinator which is active within the Italian Global Compact Network, will speak as part of the closing Round Table discussion on the afternoon of 2nd December in the session focusing on ''Evolution of sustainability reporting".

Finally, the GCNI Foundation will hold a lecture on 2nd December at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome where participating students will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding about the reality of the United Nations Global Compact and the Italian Network of the Global Compact as initiatives of an international and multi-stakeholder nature on sustainability issues.
